Yesss you heard it right, for the first time in her life. She’s an absolute star and I adore her buttttttt... when it comes to fitness and food 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ the worse influence ever!!! She loves food, anything and everything is good for her, the more calories and sugar something has, the better. I open the cupboard at work and all I see is chocolate, biscuits, cake, oreos, (and you know me and Oreos, I love them too much to resist 🙈) Now you can understand why it’s taken me a whole year to convince her to get her perfectly shaped butt to the gym with me.

Hoeveel diëten heb jij al geprobeerd?

Er zijn zoveel verschillende diëten op de wereld en er komen er nog zoveel bij. Vroeger was Sonja Bakker de nummer 1 diëtist die je moest volgen om af te vallen en nu is het Fajah Lourens die je even vertelt hoe het moet.

Het probleem is niet dat deze diëten niet werken, want ik weet zeker dat ze zorgen voor een negatieve energiebalans waardoor jij zal afvallen. Het probleem echter is, is dat dit soort methodieken niet jou persoonlijke probleempunten aanpakken en je niet aan leren hoe jij progressie kan maken. 
Het valt mij namelijk nog steeds op dat mensen wel al heel veel geprobeerd hebben. Maar nog steeds niet goed de basis onder de knie hebben en nog steeds niet goed weten waar ze nou naar moeten kijken. 
Persoonlijk vind ik het belangrijk dat de klant geïnformeerd wordt over waarom en hoe hij/zij iets kan aanpakken en dat ik niet simpelweg een schema geef die zij klakkeloos kan volgen. 
Want wat als het boek uit is, je weekschema is afgelopen. Weet jij dan ook nog steeds wat je moet doen? Weet jij nog steeds wat je kan doen als jij van je plan afwijkt?

Could not be more proud of these athletes! 💥 Gauteng Champs Powerlifting has now passed which gives me time to analyze performances and to start planning ahead for SA Champs in December! These athletes gave their all and put in some phenomenal performances 💪 As a team we managed 1x Gold medal, 1x Bronze medal and 4 qualification spots for SA Champs! -

Competing is not just about going out and lifting weights on the day.. If only it was that simple.. 😓 It’s about having the guts to step out on that platform and perform to the best of your abilities in front of an audience that are staring right at you. It’s about dealing with the stress of training that leads up to competition. It’s about controlling the nerves that hit you the moment you wake up and make you feel physically sick. It’s about telling yourself to trust your training when the weights feel heavy during your warm up and your legs are shaking from all the nerves.. If you haven’t stepped up on the platform before then it’s hard to understand how it feels! What you can do in training vs what you can do on the platform are often two very different things 🤷🏻‍♂️ So well done to everyone that took the platform this weekend and for all of the incredible performances that we witnessed 💪 Now we look forward to December when the best in the country come head to head! 🏆 I can’t wait!!

Movement should always preceded loading. Take your time in the first stages of training to learn the technique of the movements. Work on perfecting the execution and learn what it feels like when the lift is performed properly. If you try to load poor technique its only a matter of time before you will be humbled and force to return to the empty bar either through injury or stagnation. ⠀
