It has been awhile since i have posted on this account but if you have been following me on my other @yeah.lifestyle account. You know how busy i have been. Decided to start back again by sharing a photo of a #mooncake.
This is one of our fav desserts and even the #kids
love it. The #dessert
is only available from August until September every year but we crave for this all year around. This is a rich pastry typically filled with sweet red bean, lotus-seed paste, yam, egg yoks and most recently chocolate. The cakes are traditionally eaten during the Mid Autumn #festival
which is celebrated at the end of the Hungry Ghost Festival. The one i have featured here is my most favourite...the lotus seed paste with #pumpkin
Here's something from wiki to explain more about the Moon Cake or Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is a East #Asian
harvest festival celebrated notably by the #Chinese
and Vietnamese people (also widely celebrated in #Malaysia).
The festival is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar (15 Sept this year) with full moon at night, corresponding to late September to early October of the Gregorian calendar with a full moon at night.
I am thankful that i have been sent these gems by mum. It was not easy for her to find it in July and they are not cheap either. #cakes #malaysia #yummyyummyinmytummy #delicioys #tasty #instayum #sweettooth #desserts
