Happy Tuesday! This verse is one of my favs! It’s also a favorite of many other believers. Just last week, the waiter that served us had it tattooed on his arm. Of course, I shared with him that it was my mantra during child birth. He just smiled! 🤦🏽♀️ I actually just declared it a few times last night while walking up a hill with Tim. (Side note: I may have gotten used to flat land while in Tampa! 😳) Like I said, it’s a favorite of mine and it is so true: we, as Christ followers, can do all things in and through the power of Jesus if it’s His will! That’s the key! This verse is actually part of a continuing statement Paul was making about contentment in verse 12. It takes on a whole different meaning when read in the proper context. Rest assured, it’s always God’s will for us to be content. We live in a world full of discontented people. We always want the “new & improved” when the “old & proven” works just fine! God is telling us through the Apostle Paul to not do that. He wants us to be content regardless of our current situation. As Christ followers, our mindset must be on eternity with Him and not on the present, which is temporary. I made reference earlier to being discontent with stuff, but I know that this life is hard... very hard! Your discontent maybe isn’t about stuff, but about all the crappy stuff you’re going through! I don’t know what your current circumstances are, but God does. He sees you! Our God is both sovereign & loving, so that means He is in control and we can trust Him & be content in Him. Of course, this is easier said than done!
That’s where this verse comes in... we can do it through the power of Jesus! Let’s ask God to reveal areas of discontent in our hearts, seek His forgiveness then “do all things (in this life) through Him!” #Godseesus #Godlovesus #1cupofcoffeeramblin #regardlessbcontent #throughJesus
