So, we returned from #vacation
a few days ago. It was a much needed break from life filled with fun, family, relaxation, many memories and AH-MAZING #food.
While I expected to #eat
terrific food on vacation, my hope for memorable food on the way there and back was nonexistent. So, imagine my delight when we stopped in at @cottonblues in #hattiesburg
on our way home and discovered a place with amazing eats and a fun, quaint, and rustic atmosphere.
Right when we entered we saw rustic benches, #cotton
filled vases, and a case with their featured drool worthy desserts. The dining areas were equally charming- rustic tables, #shiplapped
walls and more rustic, country-esq decor. Each table was topped with a cute, blue, glass vase and a ball of cotton.
The food was even more memorable than the restaurant's charm. We were greeted with a plate of complimentary #pickled #beet #chips
bread and butter #pickles.
Choosing an appetizer was difficult because there was a laundry list of fabulous sounding foods but we finally decided on the egg rolls with rabbit and gulf #shrimp
with a tangy mustard dipping sauce. Settling on a main dish was equally difficult, but our waitress was kind, patient, and extremely helpful. I got the #lobster #tacos
with corn relish and a side of polenta with lump #crab
and pico de gallo. My hubs had ribs and chicken that was equally amazing, my son had tomato #soup
with fried #cheese
curds. I mean, they pull out all the stops on all the dishes. Even my daughter's #chicken
strips were perfection.
And I couldn't leave without #dessert.
I HAD to snag a slice of their #coconut
and it did not disappoint- smooth, coconut filling, perfect meringue and the flakiest and butteriest of crusts. Pair with a hot cup of coffee and mmmmm!
So, the next time you find yourself in Hattiesburg, Ms or even vaguely close stop by Cotton Blues and enjoy some southern inspired yumminess.
