With @transworldshows coming this weekend I wanted to revisited some of my favorite haunt makeups from the 2018 season at @thedevilsattic . This actually won best character makeup in the region from @thescarefactor . Keep in mind all these makes are done in an average 20 minutes a piece over a 2 hour span.
I did not get the Egyptian Priestess right for the 2017 season. I wanted her to look very primitive and unrefined with cracking makeup like she painted her face with mud or clay. Without having time to research products we had to shoot our commercial for the 2017 season. The closest I could come up with on short notice was a scale stencil. Unfortunately everyone loved it so I reluctantly kept it.
This past year I changed the shape to resemble more of a bird skull. I had also seen a makeup that @laneychantal did with cracking makeup which was exactly what I was looking for. I sent her a message and she was awesome enough to share her process with me. Using prosaide first to give a thin layer of alginate something to stick to was perfect. Alginate is generally used in casting faces. I love using products in was they weren't normally intended. This makeup is now where I want it.
