This little Anthurium predatoradiatum aka ‘fingers’ leaf is just too cute 😍 It’s like a little planty hand 🖐 😂 Who else wants to give it a high five?! As a nurse and an acupuncturist my hands are extremely important to me. After my pregnancies I had terrible arthralgia in my hands. My hands were swollen and my joints ached for several months postpartum. It made it hard to even hold a pen to write! Guess what helped me get rid of the pain and swelling? 😁 Acupuncture! .

Witnessed my second vaginal delivery today on L&D 😁 and this time I was actually able to help! I held mom's leg while she pushed, assisted in breast feeding teaching and gave baby his first Vitamin K shot 💕 and right after his birth I attended a grand rounds presentation on black maternal health ✊🏾🤰🏾
*
I really do love this rotation..This is my exact face when I walk out of these shifts lol super juiced and inspired! *
Oh and I didn't cry in front of the patient this time ha!

Why every HEALTH PROFESSIONAL needs to be branding themselves TODAY. (Whether you own a business or not)

Yes it a bold statement and YES I stand by it 100%. You may be thinking “I’m just a nurse… Im just a therapist… Im just a fill in the blank”. You show up, you do your job well, you get paid, you go home.

Why on earth do I need to start “branding” myself? And what does that actually mean?

When you think of brands, perhaps Nike, Reebok, Starbucks pop into your head… and you immediately get overwhelmed thinking abut creating something of that magnitude.
Step back for a second, because the way I see it branding is essentially about who knows YOU, what they know you for, and what they believe you can do for them.
It’s about the value you provide to others and what they believe about you. So I ask, who knows you… who values you and your skillset?

The reason I believe it is absolutely necessary for all health professionals to start branding themselves is the fact that each and every one of us, at some point in our careers will be seeking 2 things: personal and professional growth.
We may be ok for a period of time just getting by, showing up and getting paid (Ive been there). But ultimately that’s a recipe for dissatisfaction, feeling unfulfilled, and searching for something more or different.
You know way more than you think. You are way more talented than you could ever know. You have God given gifts that people are actively seeking every day. Why not start sharing those outside your “day job”. Why not give more people the opportunity to connect and engage with you?

With the accessibility of the internet, social media, and information in general, there has never been an easier (or more important) time to start creating a name for yourself.
Why? Because when you brand yourself… when you find your voice… when you discover and start spreading your message… and when you start putting more value out into the world to help more people…. It does so much for THEM.

But it also does a very important thing for YOU. It gives you opportunity. Credibility. Authority in a particular space or niche.

OPPORTUNITY. To grow. To become more.

I get asked all the time “why do you get up so early” along with “how do you get up so early”
Well, the truth is I struggle with it, so I try to do things to make it a little easier for me!
I have everything ready the night before!
Kids clothes are laid out!
My work clothes laid out!
I sleep in my workout clothes!
I have everything I need for the morning set out!
Mom fuel ✅
PD book ✅
Superfoods ✅
Work badge✅
Computer is set on the website that I need✅

It’s my evening routine that helps me stay on track for the early mornings!
I choose to get up and get the day started because I have GOALS! Because I need some time for ME to focus on ME! I need this time before the kids get up! I need this time before I head to my nursing job! My mornings are hectic! All 3 kids along with myself need to be dressed and out the door by 6am, so in order for me to keep my sanity and still get some ME time in there I MUST have some type of ROUTINE! .
.
.
What are your tips for making the morning go smooth!? .

So here it goes guys, (while I’m sure there’s much more to say- things just haven’t quite sunk in yet.)
.
I finished my last shift as a bedside nurse early this morning before taking on my next adventure. While there’s an abundance of information out there for me to learn, here’s a minute glimps into what I already have.

Life is a gift. There’s trillions of cells in our miraculous bodies. Be grateful for them. For being able to feel when someone’s holding our hand. For having a goal greater than being able to lift a spoon again or to breathe on our own again without the help of a plastic-man made machine. To hear or see our loved ones again because we didn’t think we’d wake up one day and never have that ability to again. Life is a gift. It’s not a given right.
.
I’ve learned that we all need to be thankful for what we have, because our life, no matter how bad we may think it is, is somebody else’s fairytale. So we need to be grateful for the joys of it. For the privilege of work. For the opportunity to spread kindness, to advocate, to give and serve to a purpose bigger than ourselves. And I’ve learned to recognize that regardless if a task be grand or small, have satisfaction in knowing its worth while.
.
As it’s said, “learn everything you can, anytime you can, from anyone you can, there will always come a time when you will be grateful you did.”
.
I’ve learned that nursing changes lives. And that, changes everything. ♥️

“This letter is to you. The you that’s had a rough week. The you that seems to be under constant storm clouds. The you that may feel invisible. The you that is losing faith. The you that always blames yourself for anything that goes wrong. To you.

You are incredible. You have so much potential, and so many people to inspire. Better things are coming your way. You can do it.”

If you’re having a great day, appreciate it. If you’re not, breathe in, breathe out, and know tomorrow is another day. Do what you can, with what you have now. Perfection doesn’t exist. But while we may think it’s a bad day, it’s still a beautiful life.

If you’re having a great day, appreciate it. If you’re not, breathe in, breathe out, and know tomorrow is another day. Do what you can, with what you have now. Perfection doesn’t exist. But while we may think it’s a bad day, it’s still a beautiful life.

Happy Tuesday everyone🌻

The Incredible Joy of Owning Your Home.

If you haven't bought a home yet, you're missing out on a wonderful feeling!
That moment when you walk through your doors, throw your purse or keys on the floor, plop down on your couch and breathe a sigh of relief while thinking, "finally, it's ours (or mine)!" is incredible.
There is such a joy created from looking at all of your boxes (maybe rolling your eyes about why you buy so much stuff) and then giving yourself a moment to let it soak in that you worked hard to get here and earned it! Yes, that's a real feeling!
We often hear, and read, about the cost-effectiveness of home ownership.
The equity build-up, the freedom it can give us from finances in our retirement years, and a plethora of other ways owning a home can be a positive impact on your bottom dollar.
But we don't often hear about the emotional impact owning a home can have.
Yes, there will be days the fridge is acting silly and you need to call your home warranty, or days you have to get outside to mow your own yard, but nothing beats the pride and joy of owning a home.
There is a sense of security, and a sense of "this is mine and I worked my way up to this moment," that provides moments of absolute bliss.
The ability to do with your home as you please, not pay a pretty penny for every member of your fur family, and the privacy it provides can't be beat.
Home ownership also gives you the ability to put down roots.
We mean that, figuratively and literally.
You get to build memories through the holidays and go through many milestones with your family that leave a significant impact into the later years, all in the comfort of your home. You get to build bonds with your neighbors grow in a community oriented neighborhood. With rentals, people come and go annually, but there are deeper roots planted with building relationships with those living next to you.
Buying a home isn't about the dollars and cents for everyone, sometimes it is just about the joy of owning your own place and getting to build amazing memories in it.
If you've been longing for this, get in touch with me at 509.990.7698, and make it happen.

Selling your home can feel like a daunting task, but it shouldn’t.
It is my job as agent to walk you through every step, including your open house.
I am going to give you all the tools I have to ensure that your home has the most potential to sell when someone walks through the front door.
Your open house is the best place to make a lasting impression on potential buyers.
While online listings can provide a glimpse into what your house looks like, buyers are able to really see if your house feels like a home to them during an open tour.
Here are some tips that will help you maximize the chances of a potential buyer falling in love with your home:
Temporarily remove personalized items in your home.
When a potential buyer is touring your house, they want to be able to feel at home.
While staging the house to look like a home is important, removing items like family photos can help the space feel more personal to buyers, rather than an intrusion into someone else’s house.
Keep it simple.
While you may be adjusted to the clutter that comes with everyday life, a potential buyer is going to notice messes you don’t even realize are there.
Cleaning closets, putting away toys, and other organizational practices will help remove any distractions from your house that could put a bad taste in the mouth of a potential buyer.
Don’t create a ‘no-go’ zone.
While it may be easy to use a room or a closet as a place to hide clutter, creating a space where potential buyers are not allowed can easily turn them away.
Keep in mind that they are considering making your home their own, so they are going to want to see every part of it.
Keep your children and pets out of the house. While plenty of people love babies and puppies, it is easy to get distracted by a dog who won’t stop barking while someone is trying to tour your home.
Use this time to take a trip to the park or set up a play date for your children - even the furry ones - so I can sell your home while you relax!
Let’s get in touch!
I will get your house sold in no time.

ADD A SPRING TOUCH TO YOUR HOME.
Even if the weather isn’t cooperating quite yet - spring is on the way! Cheering up your home with some spring decor is the perfect way to prepare for warmer days and more sunshine. Here are some options to prepare your home for the next season!
ADD AN HERB GARDEN
While they may not last outdoors with the sporadic weather of spring, bringing potted herbs into your home and letting them soak up sunlight in a kitchen window is the perfect way to add life to your home and have access to fresh herbs while you’re cooking.
THINK SPRING
If you are all about DIY-ing, creating simple decorations can add a pop of seasonal color to your home. Take that pair of rain boots you don’t wear anymore and turn them into planters - add bright floral arrangements and use your new decor item as an inviting piece by your front door.
POPS OF COLOR
Neutral and sleek is all the rage right now, but adding a pop of color in your normal decor can add a cheerful touch to your home. Swap out your kitchen napkins or tablecloth with something a little bit more colorful, like soft blues or pinks. Small changes can do enough to make your home feel different without being overwhelming.
FLORALS ARE ALWAYS THE ANSWER
Whether or not you already include florals in your home decor, take the time to swap out or add something new that feels like spring. While fresh flowers are a great choice, consider picking up some faux florals for the majority of your decor and saving the fresh flowers for a centerpiece. Don’t be afraid to add pops of color, specifically yellows and pinks, to create a focal point for the room.
TOUCH UP TIME
Is there a room in your home that is just feeling drab? Maybe it is dark and uninviting, or maybe it has white walls that have started to fade. While you are spring cleaning, consider adding a fresh coat of paint to a place in your home that needs a boost of light. Spring is all about being fresh and new, so your home should feel that way too!

I will get your house sold in no time.

Cleaning 101 Before Listing

Before you put your home up for sale, you'll want to ensure it's clean for all of the buyers that will come through.
A dirty house isn't appealing, and you won't get a good offer, if you get one at all, if your home isn't in tip top shape.
Cleaning your home doesn't have to be overwhelming, below I've listed the top things to remember to clean for each room.
FOYER: Clean the door and hardware.
+ Wipe off all fingerprints on windows/furniture. Clean off scuff marks on floors and door.
+ Replace all light bulbs and ensure light fixtures are working.
+ Tidy/clean up the coat closet. People WILL look in there to see the size.
KITCHEN: Wipe down all cabinets.
+ Clean all appliances, inside and out.
+ Clean stove hood, on top and bottom.
+ Clean behind the refrigerator, on top and bottom too.
+ Ensure the microwave is clean of food splatter. Clean the space behind the sink.
+ Wipe down blinds/shades.
+ Wash any kitchen rugs, clean the floors and baseboards.
+ Store all of your food/pet food out of sight.
BATHROOM: Clean behind toilet and under sink.
+ Only display absolute necessities; declutter.
+ Organize and clean under the vanity.
+ Scrub floors and clean grout lines.
+ Keep dirty clothes and towels off the floor.
+ Be sure to lock away any medication.
+ Clean the fan and make sure it is functioning.
+ Replace any dead lightbulbs.
BEDROOM:
+ Wash sheets, comforters, and blankets.
+ Clean the curtains and rugs.
+ Dust furniture. + Remove any obvious stains from fabrics.
+ Keep closets clean and organized.
+ Store away dirty clothes and personal photos.
+ Clean marks on walls.

These are just the basics you don't want to forget about.
If it's within your budget, I highly recommend hiring a professional cleaner to ensure your home is in its best condition.
Contact me today at 509.990.7698 to get a great local recommendation.

Staging Tips To Get Your Home Sold.

1. SAY GOODBYE TO CLUTTER
The best thing you can do for your home for sale is to get rid of all of your clutter! Make a rule for your home that for every new piece that comes in, one must go. One of the biggest factors to a cluttered home is too much furniture. Generally, in a professional staging, half the homeowner's furniture is removed to make the house look bigger. Look around your house and see what you can pack away. It'll be worth the investment to get a storage unit for a few months to store away those extra furnishings and goods.
2. FURNITURE GROUPINGS
There is a large misconception that furniture pushed directly up against the walls make a room look bigger, but this is far from true. Instead, you'll want to float your furniture in each room and away from the walls. Position your sofas and chairs into cozy conversational groupings. Be sure the furnishings are placed to make the traffic flow in a room obvious. This will make the room more user-friendly and will make it look larger.
3. TRANSFORM ROOMS
If you have a room that has only served to collect boxes or other junk, it is important to purpose the room to something that is functional. You can make it into an extra bedroom, a small cozy nook/reading room, etc. If the basement is your problem room, organize your boxes or move them to a storage unit and turn it into a gaming room or family area.
4. HOME LIGHTING
Great lighting is the trick to making a staged home look warm and welcome. Most homes are improperly lit, which makes rooms look dark and dreary. There is a quick fix to this issue. Increase the wattage in your fixtures and lamps, aiming for about 100 watts per 50 square feet. Add three different types of light.

GO NEUTRAL
The simple trick to toning down dated finishing in any space is a little bit of fresh paint. You don't want to go stark white, but look into neutral grey and beige colors. Beige colors can also consist of warm honey-like colors, soft blues and greens, and a variety of undertones that add a little life to a neutral color. If you do want to use bold colors, be sure to only keep it on accent walls to help enhance structural features.
MAKE IT LOOK BIGGER
If you want to make a room appear bigger than it is, paint the room the same color as an adjacent room. For small kitchens and dining rooms, a seamless look will make the space feel like one, open it up, and make it seem much larger. Using drapes that match the wall colors can also add an emphasis to the room's size.
USE YOUR GARDEN
Staged homes tend to use fresh flowers and pricey floral arrangements. If you don't have the money to go all out on florals, you can get this same affect by raiding your garden space. You can DIY beautiful pieces with fern fronds, magnolia clippings, and more. Use the spring and summer months to find cheerful flowers and use them in your arrangements.
GET A FACELIFT
So you can't afford new cabinets? You can just get new doors and drawer fronts. Paint everything to match and add new hardware to them. Instead of replacing the entire dishwasher, you may be able to get a new front panel, and you should go for stainless steel if you think you can pull it off. Check with the manufacturer to see if replacements are available for your model.
MAKE NECESSARY REPAIRS
Unfinished home projects can really scare off potential home buyers, so you'll want to be sure to make required repairs. Missing floorboards and large cracks in the sidewalk on the way to your door tend to be a red flag. Holes in walls and scratched up door frames can really look unattractive. These repairs cost you less to fix than buyers might deduct from the asking price.
CLEAN YOUR HOME
Aside from de-cluttering, the most important step to staging your home is to clean it. A dirty house is a quick turn-off for potential buyers. Most homes, especially with children and pets or smokers, have a smell that.

Aside from de-cluttering, the most important step to staging your home is to clean it. A dirty house is a quick turn-off for potential buyers. Most homes, especially with children and pets or smokers, have a smell that.

I will get your house sold in no time.
