Eat Your Greens 🥦🥒
Greens contain many essential micro nutrients that support your immune system. The fiber in greens is an important component that keeps your digestive system working well.
I like to make a daily green smoothie to make sure I’m taking every opportunity to get my greens in, along with a simple weekly salad that I keep on hand to round out the veggies in my meals.
Include Protein 🍗
Protein breaks down to amino acids, which are the building blocks of your body tissue: skin, hair, nails and MUSCLE 💪🏻 It’s also very satisfying 😋 and will support your body in burning fat and adding lean muscle, changing the way you look, and the way your clothes fit – not to mention making you feel more energized and strong!
Make sure you include a serving of protein with each meal opportunity.
Round out Your Meals with Fiber-Dense Complex Carbs and Healthy Fats
For lasting energy in your workouts and to fuel your muscle tissue and brain, eat whole food carbohydrate and healthy fat sources.
Complex carbs come from whole foods, like oats, rice, beans, quinoa, sweet potatoes and potatoes, and other grains and vegetables.
Healthy fats can be found in nuts, oils, animal products, seeds and plant foods like avocado 🥑 Eat Plenty of Whole Foods Daily
What you look like on the outside comes from what’s at the END OF YOUR FORK 🍴 Don’t skip meals, and choose whole food. Don’t get stuck on a calorie count. Real food doesn’t HAVE ingredients, it IS ingredients.
Eating excess sugar and processed foods with a lot of non-whole food substances can clog up your liver, and derail it from its many other important functions (like metabolizing fat).
This creates more work for your body, and pads our bellies, legs, arms and butts with extra fat, slows down our metabolism and causes premature signs of aging, fatigue and lowers our immune system strength.
