In the past couple of weeks I've been travelling and exploring Georgia, a country that has definitely won a special place in my heart.
So much has happened, so many stories, so many forever memorable experiences.
It's the land, the culture, the history, the mountains, the vineyards and wine, the warm sun and thunderstorms, the animals wandering around in villages living happy lives, it's just so much that it's hard to choose photos to post (I shall post more).
My keen interest, love, admiration, avid eagerness to learn about the lives of people of the world are some of the main reasons why I travel.
In Georgia I have found a country of wonderful, welcoming, warm-hearted, hospitable, friendly and affable people. Even when language is a barrier, which is many times unfortunate, as I would love to be able to talk more with the locals, to learn about their lives, their struggles, their stories, Georgians make up for it with their smiles, their hellos, their willingness to help and share. I would dare to say their kind hospitality is second to none.
This woman and her husband have a small food business on the side of a mountain road in Upper Svaneti, northern Georgia. We have been there twice and she always smiles, there is always a special light in her blue eyes.
Living in a remote area can't be easy, and even though one might imagine the hardship of living in a region not easily accessible, this kind and loving elderly woman does not let it show.
Her husband looked more stern, but we also got to see his smile. 😊
