I’ve been having a particularly tough couple weeks (this week being the worst) when it comes to coping with my perspective of myself and my weight loss. I have been really beating myself up and dealing with some mild depression that I’m trying to come out of but it’s one of those things that you can’t really control. I’m discouraged, I’m angry, and I’m confused. I seem to have forgot how to do the one thing I thought I had down (which was foolish). I’m mad at myself for gaining weight back and I’m mad at myself for not being able to lose it again. Anyways, hopefully if anyone else is going through a rough patch they can see this and know they aren’t alone or whateva.

Lifting heavy! Made up yesterday’s 10 rep max deadlift and did it at 285#! Felt good, just got hard to breathe in the bottom with my belt on 🤣 the last 3 were rough!

Messing around with some reactive jumps. I was attempting to initiate my movement as soon as I heard the second bounce of the tennis 🎾 ball. .
Pretty cool drill and really challenged me to not cheat (you can see me leaning in the first video). Sport is all about reaction, yet the majority of our training is extremely controlled and is rarely quoted by an external stimulus. In training, we know when we are going to load, exploded and jump. However, with the tennis ball, I was forced to stay “tense” and avoid anticipation - rely on the audible cue. .
I actually liked doing this with music going on in the background. The external noise from the noise forced me to really “listen” an move my attention away from the movement and more towards the sound. Because of this, I really had to be “reactive” in nature. I also liked the fact that this was a “max effort” movement. Still trying to jump as high and as fast as possible. Most reaction drills tend to be low threshold movements, requiring submax reactions (outside of some partner drills) - @schlesstrength

Well folks. When your standing on a 4.5 inch deficit and wearing combat boots (at least an inch and a half) and the first rrep is a tough one, your bound to feel a bit woozy. Lol glad I dropped it before I got dropped. Finished out my last light weight set of 405 with roughly 5.5 inches of deficit. Pops didn't raise no quitter!! One day I will be great. One day I will reach that mountain top. One day I will achieve everything I have dreamt of, and much more. Every movement has a purpose, whether you're chasing mass/size, strength, or aesthetics. I've always noticed that people tend to use a lot of body language on lateral pull downs, resulting in more of a high-pull row.

Now, yeah this is a real movement, but lateral pull-downs differ from said movement. If you're looking to pull from a high angle to have a different variation of a wide/narrow grip row, do so by locking yourself in position, and maintain an actual angle.

Otherwise you're not doing much at all by using tons of body language when doing these movements, you're just rowing, but your boats not going anywhere.

Mind-muscle connection + strict movement = better stimulation and, better pump.

👀 Side note: My gym's dumbbells only go up to 120, so I had to improvise and throw on an additional 25# dumbbell. It took a bit to position the dumbbells properly, so I was only able to fit in one side of them 💪😅. First world gym problems.

I would have never worn shorts outside of my house and... Up until January 2019, I hated my stems.

Growing up, I was always told how “white they are.” And “how stubby and short they are!” In the Fitness Industry, I was always complimented on “how big your quads are!!” Compliment or not, it still brought me down.

This year, I had my artist @dozerinktattoos brand these stems.. I figured if I had permanent art on these suckers, it would help with my #bodygoals and assist with appreciating the hard work I’ve invested into these bad boys.

I was right. 
I can finally compliment and appreciate my body. I’ve come so far to get to where I am at, that it’s a shame not to have confidence & pride.
