Kinections Dancegroup’s Teacher Feature: CHELSEA BONOSKY✨
Chelsea Bonosky grew up in Rochester, NY, studying under the mentorship of Timothy Draper, at The Draper Center for Dance Education. Later, she became a member of The Rochester City Ballet, and upon graduation, attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
After graduating, Chelsea worked as an apprentice with acclaimed choreographer Stephen Petronio, before she joined on contract for over four years with Sleep No More, produced by London based immersive theatre company, Punchdrunk.
Chelsea has been creating, rehearsal assisting, performing (nationally and internationally), and working administratively with Adam Barruch since their initial meeting at Springboard Danse Montreal in 2008, and has been honored to travel the world creating with him. In 2016 they formed, Anatomiae Occultii, where she acts as Associate Director and collaborator.
She is a guest artist with Josh Beamish, MOVE: The Company, ( Vancouver, The Joyce), Gabrielle Lamb (92 St Y, Bryant Park), and Sarah Elgart/ Arrogant Elbow -specializing in site specific dance and film. Her most recent work with Arrogant Elbow was at Jacob’s Pillow for their first ever commissioned site work, and the film Ghost Stories created with Ms. Elgart debuted at Cannes Film Festival, in conjunction with Issey Miyake.
In the summer of 2017, Chelsea presented her first solo show, at Gibney Dance: The Agnes Varis Performing Art Center to rave reviews. She collaborated with Adam Barruch, Pavel Zustiak, Gabrielle Lamb, and Mary Carter to create and perform in an evening of 4 solos. Her a site specific dance film, entitled 'LUNA' with the direction/ production of the brilliant Justin Ervin was selected and screened at The ADF Movies by Movers Film Festival.
