One of the physical benefits of pranayama often quoted in textbooks is: “removing stale or stagnant air from the lungs and exchanging it with fresh air”. I don’t know if this is anatomically true (maybe @ashtangi_ali can help!) but as it is a nice idea that I find helps me to visualise what’s going on in my lungs when I breathe deeply.

You know when it’s raining and you’re in a car watching the windscreen wipers go back and forth but there’s that little bit of grime right at the edge that they don’t quite reach?? And it’s so annoying you just want to go out there and scrub the bastard clean??? Give me a double tap if you FEEL me.

Well that’s what it’s like in your lungs if you don’t breathe fully 🤣 at least that’s what it’s like in my mind.

Pranayama brings me a sense of vitality, rejuvenation, SPARKLE that makes me feel like a polished windscreen ✨ let me know in the comments if you have ANY idea what I’m talking about.

Veremos las asistencias , variaciones y modificaciones para las posturas de piso de la segunda parte de la primer serie de Ashtanga yoga. Pueden participar cualquier profe y practicante de cualquier otro estilo de yoga āsana. ¡No es necesario saber hacer las posturas!

El taller es práctico: haremos una práctica guiada y luego veremos cómo asistir, a qué prestar atención, cuidados, posición del cuerpo durante las asistencias, toques, sutileza, presión/intensidad, alineación/anatomía y todas las inquietudes que vayan apareciendo.

Las posturas que veremos son: #kurmasana, #suptakurmasana, #garbhapindasana, #kukkutasana #baddhaKonasana, #suptapadanghustasana, #Upavishtakonasana, #urdhvadhanurasana( el puente ), #salambasarvangasana ( la vela), #halasana ( el arado), #karnapidasana, #sirsasana ( paro de cabeza), #padmasana ( loto)

Esta asana me gusta añadirla tras el #ardhabaddhapadmottanasana para aprovechar la apertura de cadera y la conexión/postura del cuerpo.

En el vídeo tenéis muy bien explicados lo pasos con mis pequeños trucos personales 😊:

1️⃣Abre/moviliza tus caderas. Coge tu rodilla y balancea tu pierna de lado a lado.
2️⃣ Entra en #ardhabaddhapadmottanasana. Tomate tu tiempo y todas las respiraciones que necesites.
3️⃣ Profundiza en la postura. Cuando más fuerte sea la conexión con tu cuerpo, menos fuerza necesitarás después.
4️⃣ Coloca tus manos en #Bakasana y desliza tu pie hasta formar un 4. Ahora agarra con el empeine tu tríceps y haz fuerza.

Cuando estaba haciendo el instructorado miraba el primer piso de mi casa, y pensaba en lo bacán que sería tener ahí una salita de yoga. Hoy, al fin, este anhelo (casi platónico) es una realidad. Sala Aikyam en Plaza Egaña es el pequeño espacio que he destinado para compartir un poquito de lo que me gusta aprender y enseñar. Claro que la sala sigue en formación, creciendo, transformándose, entendiendo sus rincones y cómo nos acomodamos en ellos, y espero que poco a poco vayamos conociendo la vocación natural de cada rincón, cada espacio, para poder hacer de ella nuestro pequeño refugio de amor y conexión con lo más profundo que habita en nosotros. 
Mi corazón está lleno de gratitud, porque cada puerta que se ha abierto y, especialmente, cada puerta que se ha cerrado, han dado a luz a este momento, este lugar.
Mi reflexión me lleva a siempre confiar en aquello que es más grande que tú y yo. Entregarme a la corriente y dejar que la ola me lleve a surfear su plan perfecto hasta que se destape la olla y el universo nos sorprenda con aquello que tenía preparado para nosotros.

It's also important to  practice at home though - for my own personal discipline and because this impressionable girl watches every move I make.⁣⁣

Raising a beautiful feisty young woman, I think it's important she sees me dedicated, focused (sort of 😆😋), moving my body in a loving way, and on my mat. ⁣⁣

My intention is to lead by example, to practice what I teach, and to share tools with her that can help her navigate inner turmoil. ⁣⁣

And also to show you, it's possible. This was a 15 minute practice, but it counts 💜🙏⁣⁣

Oh and if you want to work on stability in headstand let a toddler try and knock you over 😂🤦 forgive my lax alignment 😋 (swipe)⁣⁣

^^ something I’ve previously said (not sure where but I remember ). and now I see how it can be problematic. i’m thinking about the way I said it and it just sounds like the only way that I can be smoothed into a nicer person is if I physically bend and fold and stretch and move gracefully. yes this is part of yoga but it is not the ONLY way to practice yoga. yoga is a “union” of body mind and soul that only requires your mental focus and breath. you can be doing yoga and sitting in the car, cleaning the house, or balancing on your big toe on the top of a mountain.

I don’t want to only be a nicer person AFTER my asana practice. I want to be a nicer person before, throughout as well as after my practice. my aim is not to have a bad mood, stretch, and all of a sudden the problem is solved— my aim is to recognize an emotion/reaction, validate it, and move on with a relaxed heart. this is what my daily practice has taught me, although I am human and still get fired up for longer than you’d expect haha

it is kind of true that I am a “nicer” person after the introduction of yoga in my life, but I want the physical practice to be a TOOL to help me move through obstacles in my life off the mat the same way I move through postures in the series.

Eg in Parivritta Trikonasana. Just like in Samastitihi, we still look to activate up through the legs, firm the lower belly and lengthen the spine. We still avoid flaring the ribs and keep the shoulders relaxed away from the ears.

All we do differently is move our feet apart a bit, fold forward and twist through the upper back. Simple! 😝

But srsly tho, if you try to recreate all the principles of Samasthiti in other postures, you might discover a little more space, length and ease in your asanas 🙏🏽

Workshop je vhodný pro všechny kteří praktikují nějaký druh dynamičtějších směrů jógy a rádi by pronikli do větších detailů. Kino má sama více než 20letou jógovou praxi. Jejím hlavním učitelem byt Sri K.Pattabji Jois a v současnosti je Sharath Jois. 
Velkou předností této vzrůste malé učitelky je obrovská energie, kterou na svých workshopech umí předat. Z jejich lekcí odchází člověk vždy plný nových poznatků, ale hlavně inspirace k praxi. Máme velkou radost, že opět přijala pozvání učit v Praze.

El principiante comienza simplemente memorizando  una secuencia de posturas y de a poco, la idea es ir profundizando, refinando y explorando ésta y otras secuencias de practica; inevitablemente ésta autoexploración impregna todos los aspectos de la vida😊, mientras que el maestro ofrece a cada alumno un seguimiento personal , observando cuidadosamente y teniendo en cuenta su cuerpo y capacidades. El método Ashtanga Vinyasa🤸 permite al alumno a  aprender a su propio ritmo, mientras que el maestro acompaña según el nivel de cada uno; también a medida que el alumno  profundiza y conecta cada vez más con su practica, el maestro puede continuar, en agregar posturas a la secuencia. Esto permite al alumno desarrollar una práctica de por vida😉. En el método Ashtanga Yoga🤸 sostenemos una firme determinación de permanecer enfocados en la respiración👃más relajada , de mantener tanto la inhalación como la exhalación plácida, estable  y suave , independientemente del tipo de tensión a la que pueda estar sometido, el cuerpo o la mente, por la postura o el movimiento en ejecución. Начинаем из положения #самастхити. Стоим в начале коврика, 🦶🏻 стопы вместе, ✋🏻 руки вдоль туловища, 👀взгляд на кончик носа 👃🏻

🌬На вдохе - левую руку помещаем на бедро, правую вытягиваем перед собой, поднимаем правую ногу и захватываем средним и указательным пальцами правой руки, большой палец ноги. Спина и ноги прямые, 👀 взгляд на большой палец стопы🦶🏻.
. 🌬 На выдохе- наклоняемся к поднятой ноге, фиксируем 👀взгляд на большом пальце стопы🦶🏻. Остаемся в данном положении 5 дыханий.

🌬 На вдохе - выпрямляем туловище.

🌬 На выдохе- отводим правую ногу в сторону, подбородок поворачиваем в лево, 👀 смотрим вдаль. Остаемся на 5 дыханий. .
🌬 На вдохе- возвращаем ногу вперёд .
🌬 На выдохе- снова наклоняемся к ноге
